Operative DC current cabinets are designed to receive auxiliary AC electrical power from two independent sources (auxiliaries board sections), convert them into DC electrical power and distribute electrical power from the auxiliary DC circuits; DC power supply both through rectifier (recharging) devices and from the built-in battery (when voltage losses on both AC auxiliaries board sections).

OCC provide as follows:
- normal operation in case of supply voltage deviations from the nominal value within the range from minus 15% to plus 15% and supply network frequency deviations from the nominal value within 1 Hz.
- power supply of the operative DC output circuits at a total load of no more than 11.1 A.
- certain operating battery modes.
- discharge mode of the operative DC circuit.
- possibility of manual switching on and off of the output circuits, as well as their protection against short-circuit and overload currents by circuit breakers, selective with switches in the battery connection circuit and in the converter circuit.
- voltage and current measurement in the battery circuit, insulation resistance.
- fault alarm by pointing relay.
- alarm by light-signaling devices for the presence of voltage.
- output to the external circuit with “dry” contacts of information regarding the main malfunctions of the product components and emergency shutdown of the feeder circuit breaker.
- forming auxiliary circuit flashing light ( + ) using flashing light device.
